Job summary

Ambient Enterprises seeks an Accounting Specialist (Part-Time) to support day-to-day accounting, including AP/AR, cash flow reporting, commissions, reconciliations, and month-end close, with QuickBooks Desktop expertise.

The role involves preparing journal entries, maintaining schedules, and assisting with a future transition to a new accounting system, while working independently in a hybrid Davie, FL environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and cash flow reporting.
• Experience supporting month-end accounting activities.
• Experience with commission calculations or project-based accounting is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn new accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills when working with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Process and review vendor bills, customer invoices, and payments.
• Enter purchase orders and review invoicing for accuracy.
• Receive and record customer payments and initiate vendor payments.
• Prepare cash flow reports twice a week, including cash received, expected income, and upcoming payments.
• Track vendor payment terms and ensure bills are paid according to established schedules.
• Communicate with customers and vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account questions.
• Prepare quarterly commission reports and calculate commission splits based on project responsibilities.
• Track commissions for projects that may run over several months and update calculations as needed.
• Prepare and record journal entries.
• Maintain supporting schedules and assist with month-end close.
• Complete templates and gather information needed for sales tax processing.
• Reconcile customer, vendor, and prepaid accounts.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Work in QuickBooks Desktop and assist with the transition to a new accounting system as needed.

Role : Accounting Specialist (Part-Time)

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to support the day-to-day accounting needs of the business. Estimated Compensation

$26-$33/hour, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications.
