Qualifications

• Epicor experience is preferred but not necessary.
• ERP (manufacturing) experience is a must.

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain monthly financial records for ETS and oversee payroll processes.
• Prepare month-end financial statements and reconcile major accounts.
• Enter GL adjusting entries and handle bank reconciliations monthly.
• Collaborate with Financial Controller, CFO, and leadership on cost analyses.
• Review job costs, variances, and margins; support manufacturing cost initiatives.
• Coordinate with external CPAs for year-end reviews and tax prep.
• Assist with asset lists, depreciation schedules, and multi-state payroll.

Role Description

The Accounting Specialist is a full-time, hy-brid role located in Faribault, MN. The Accounting Specialist oversees the daily financial operations, multi-state payroll, and manufacturing controllership for ETS. This role ensures the accurate maintenance of monthly financial records, prepares month-end financial statements, and manages supporting accounting staff. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Financial Controller, CFO, and executive leadership to analyze job costs, maximize manufacturing efficiencies, and ensure compliance across state, federal, and international boundaries (including Canada).

Job Requirements

• Accurate Maintenance of the monthly financial records of ETS
• Month end Financial Statement preparation
• Reconciliation of major accounts
• Enter General Ledger Adjusting Journal Entries as needed.
• Process Bank Reconciliations monthly
• Work with Financial Controller to review accounts
• Work with outside CPA’s for PBC’s preparation and to support their FYE Review and corp. tax prep.
• Work with Financial Controller on Asset list and Depreciation Schedule.

Payroll and Related Duties

• Completion of Payroll and Maintenance of related benefit programs and Sales Tax Returns by State.
• Confidential preparation of bi-weekly payroll
• Maintain confidential employee files including new hire orientation
• Complete all necessary monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings
• Annual reporting of W-2’s and 1099’s.
• Added responsibility multi-state / province payroll
• Health Insurance, Aflac, 401K Plan – split work with CFO to manage for ETS employees
• Maintain relationships with supporting agents / vendors
• Prepare reports for insurance auditors for general liability and WC.
• File state sales tax returns as needed including any Canadian reports concerning GST/HST

Manufacturing Controllership

• Work with Production/Supply Chain/Engineering staff on cost savings activities.
• Review job costs and variances on a monthly basis – As needed
• Work to reset default accounting codes where needed for proper accounting
• Investigate large variances with the team
• Alert Financial Controller and CEO of any negative trends and positive trends.
• Work with team and make recommendations to improve costs and efficiencies
• Outsource opportunities?
• Identify and follow-thru
• Ongoing review of gross margins from machines sold/produced – share with Director of Production, CFO, CEO, and VP Sales & Marketing.Set up meetings and facilitate.
• List of Machine Sales.

Semi and Transportation Reports

• Filing IRP and IFTA reports.- Assist Transportation as needed.

Accounts Receivable and Sales

• Process daily Sales Invoices to be mailed or emailed.
• Process monthly Customer Statements to be mailed or emailed.
• Enter Sales Orders for machine sales and whole goods sales.
• Give manufacturing machine trade in information to add to inventory.
• Ship and invoice machine and whole goods sales.
• Process deposits for customer checks, wires and ACH payments.

Qualifications

• Epicor experience is preferred but not necessary. ERP (manufacturing) experience is a necessity.
• Strong understanding of Finance and Financial Statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Proficiency with Accounting Software and demonstrated experience entering and reconciling Journal Entries (Accounting).
• Solid Analytical Skills for reviewing financial data, identifying variances, and supporting data-driven decisions.
• Attention to detail, accuracy in recordkeeping, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Excel and other office productivity tools; willingness to learn new systems and processes.
