Retail First Corp. in Illinois seeks an Accounting Specialist to manage AP/AR, vendor reconciliations, payroll support, and monthly accruals under the VP of Finance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounting experience, solid Excel abilities, ERP experience, and a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience with AP and AR.
• Experience with payroll processing.
• Understanding of month-end close and accrual accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while meeting multiple deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable, including vendor invoices, payment processing, and vendor statement reconciliations.
• Manage Accounts Receivable, including customer invoicing, cash applications, collections, and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile company credit card transactions and ensure proper coding and documentation.
• Prepare monthly accruals and assist with month-end close activities.
• Assist with payroll processing, payroll reporting, and employee timekeeping.
• Support staffing activities, including onboarding paperwork, employee records, and recruiting coordination.
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with financial reporting, audits, budgeting, and other projects as assigned by the VP of Finance.
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed.
