Job summary

Hancock Lumber is seeking an accounting professional to manage journal entries, close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role supports AP/AR, audits, and internal controls while upholding GAAP and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

• Provide backup support to AP/AR and assist with audits.

Job description

• Location 1267 Poland Spring Road,Casco, ME, 04015,United States
• Prepare journal entries and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls

Accounts Payable & Receivable Support

• Manage vendor setup, W-9s, TIN verification, and 1099 classifications
• Review corporate credit card activity
• Process customer refunds and bad debt schedules
• Assist with credit card disputes, gift cards, and petty cash
• Provide backup support to Accounts Payable as needed

Compliance & Process Improvement

• Prepare annual 1099 reporting and unclaimed property filings
• Support internal and external audits
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
• Partner with Finance and IT on automation initiatives

Requirements

• Experience in accounting, financial reporting, or related finance functions
