Job summary

Synectics Inc. in Illinois is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to join our finance team as a Senior Accountant.

You will manage General Ledger accounts, lead month-end and year-end close activities, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and support audits. The role requires at least 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, in-person environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX, and HLOOKUP.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain General Ledger accounts and financial reporting structures.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities and support audits.

• Support multi-state tax compliance and state filings.
• Assist with cash management, payment planning, and cash projections.

• Prepare financial presentation materials and management reports.
• Support insurance renewals, lease-versus-buy analysis, and other financial evaluations.
