Job summary

Hancock Lumber Company is seeking a capable team member to assist the kitchen design group by generating purchase orders, coordinating with vendors and customers, quoting materials, and scheduling showroom activities.

The role involves processing orders, assisting designers, and maintaining knowledge of product lines while ensuring safety policies are followed. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Saco, ME.

Qualifications

  • Ability to process orders and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and Hancock software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with customers and employees.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic, read orders, and complete forms.
  • Knowledge of safe work procedures and policy adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Support kitchen design team by generating purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with vendors and customers and quote materials.
  • Coordinate showroom installs and schedule meetings.
  • Maintain product knowledge and assist customers when designers are busy.
  • Set up and process sales transactions and credits/returns as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

To support the work of the kitchen design team by helping to generate purchase orders, communicate/coordinate with vendors/customers, quote materials, coordinate counter installs, schedule meetings, collect payments, invoice orders, showroom coverage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • SAFETY: OUR TOP PRIORITY
    • Understands and follows all safety policies and procedures
    • Takes personal responsibility for their own safety and those working around the
    • Participates in safety huddles and uses our safety observation system: SOS
    • Report unsafe conditions and behaviors when recognized
    • Will use recommended PPE when and where it is required
  • Customer Service (CS)
    • Attainandmaintainthehighestlevelofcustomer service –right stuff, rightplace,andrighttime,correctlybilled
    • Assist designers and customers with all phases of kitchen sales
    • Ensurecompliance with Hancock LumberCompany’sCSexpectationsandprocesses.
    • AddressCSissuespromptlyandcompletely.
    • Comply with stated sales transactionprocessesandprocedures(credits,refunds,etc.)
    • Generate monthly showroom schedule to ensure proper coverage
  • Sellerrelatedorderplacement support.
  • Advises Sellers ofanyissuesaffectingcommitmenttothecustomer.
  • Develops andmaintainspositiverelationships with vendors; stays current on vendor product and pricing changes

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
