Professional Search Group in Southern California seeks an Accounting Services Manager to lead a multi-client accounting services team, driving scalable processes and enhanced client service.

You will oversee bookkeeping and financial reporting workflows, manage budgets and capacity, and collaborate with leadership to scope engagements and drive profitability. CPA or equivalent designation preferred; 7+ years in accounting and 2+ years in leadership required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing or building an accounting team.
• Experience with multi-client environments.
• CPA or equivalent designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and retain the accounting services team, including recruiting, onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance management.
• Manage team workflow, capacity, and production schedules to ensure client work is completed accurately and on time.
• Oversee bookkeeping and financial statement preparation for multiple clients.
• Review financial reporting and identify errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and document accounting processes and SOPs to create a scalable and consistent workflow.
• Improve workflow, review procedures, turnaround times, and overall team efficiency.
• Manage multiple client engagements and competing deadlines.
• Assist with scoping engagements, pricing, and setting client expectations.
• Monitor budgets, engagement profitability, production timelines, and team capacity.
• Prepare and manage work‑in‑progress reporting and provide updates to leadership.
• Work directly with clients and internal leadership to address accounting needs and resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to expand services and support new business opportunities.
• Track team performance and key operational metrics.
• Help foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
