Job summary

Southwest Minnesota State University seeks an Assistant Professor of Accounting to teach a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Principles of Accounting and Advanced Accounting, in on-campus and online formats.

The position emphasizes scholarly activity, student advising, and service to the university and community, with expectations to participate in department and campus committees and regional service initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or DBA with emphasis in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution.
• ABD may be considered if degree requirements are expected to be completed before the appointment start date.
• Experience teaching undergraduate accounting courses.
• Evidence of teaching in classroom, online, and/or hybrid formats.
• Evidence of written communication skills through application materials and scholarly work.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and coordinating the courses and curricula for SMSU’s Accounting program.
• Will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting.
• Engage in activities to support the accounting program and Department, including student recruitment and retention and Accounting Club mentorship.
