Metropolitan State University in St. Paul invites applications for a full-time probationary Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Accounting Department.

The position starts January 4, 2027 and is governed by the Inter Faculty Organization Master Agreement. The successful candidate will teach Accounting Information Systems and Financial or Managerial Accounting at undergraduate and graduate levels, develop curriculum, contribute to assessment, engage in scholarly activity, advise students, and

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in accounting or related field; applicants completing by Aug 2027 considered.
• Ability to teach and design undergraduate and graduate courses in AIS and financial or managerial accounting that engage a diverse student population.
• Demonstrated success in teaching and professional service activities.
• A plan for scholarly activity/research in the discipline(s).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse institution.
• Willingness to live in Minnesota and teach face-to-face courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach AIS and Financial/Managerial Accounting courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Curriculum development in AIS and accounting.
• Teach in BS/BA, MS/MA, and MBA/DBA programs; in-person and distance courses.
• Contribute to assessment of student learning at program, college, and institutional levels.
• Engage in scholarly activity, research, and service.
• Advise students and provide career guidance; participate in department and university service.
• Demonstrate commitment to a diverse student body and inclusive pedagogy.
