• Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals: GL, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close.
• Basic understanding of GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort learning new systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication.
• Internship or early professional accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and year-end close: journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Handle project accounting in Unanet: project setup, labor and cost tracking, closeout.
• Assist with WIP tracking and client billing cycle.
• Prepare 1099 filings and property tax reports, assist CPA with tax package.
• Provide backup across accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Document processes and help improve team workflows.

About the Role:

GFF Design is seeking a motivated Accounting Professional to grow with our finance team. This is a hands-on, foundational role for someone early in their accounting career who wants to build broad, full-cycle experience: month-end close, general ledger, project accounting, and billing support. You'll work closely with finance leadership and learn our systems and processes from the ground up, with real ownership of your areas and room to grow into greater responsibility. It's an ideal seat for someone building a career in accounting who wants to learn fast in a modern, growing finance function.

What You Will Do:

• Support the monthly and year-end close: journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations


• Maintain general ledger accuracy and complete balance-sheet reconciliations


• Handle project accounting in Unanet: project setup, labor and consultant cost tracking, and closeout


• Assist with WIP tracking and the client billing cycle


• Prepare 1099 filings and property tax reports, and help assemble the tax package for the external CPA


• Provide backup and continuity across accounts payable and accounts receivable


• Help document processes and improve how the team works

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent experience; recent graduates are welcome
