Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking an Accounting Manager for a professional services firm in Fairfield County, Connecticut. You will run the accounting function and report directly to ownership, while guiding junior staff and ensuring accurate close, payroll, and compliance processes.

The role involves managing cost accounting, budgeting, client invoicing, AR collections, and preparing year-end packages for external tax accountants. This is a direct-hire, on-site position in Connecticut.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• Hands-on experience owning the close for a small or mid-sized firm.
• Comfortable across accounting, payroll and operational compliance.

Responsibilities

• Project cost accounting, budgeting and monthly client invoicing
• Accounts receivable follow-up and collections
• Monthly and quarterly close, including review of all journal entries
• Oversight of bi-weekly payroll and quarterly payroll reporting
• Business insurance renewals, state and federal registrations, annual agency surveys
• Year-end package for the outside tax accountants: 1099s, sales and use tax, payroll reconciliation, R&D credit support
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
