Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking a Senior Accountant for our client in Fairfield County, CT to manage books for private foundations and community programs. The role covers day-to-day accounting, month-end close, donor receivables, and coordination of audits.

You will need a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, a master's and/or CPA, 5+ years nonprofit/private foundations, GAAP, full close cycle, and experience with Workday or similar GL system; advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in accounting or finance; master's and/or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with nonprofit or private foundation exposure.
• GAAP and accrual accounting with full close cycle.
• External audit support and tax filing experience.
• Workday Financial Management or similar GL system; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day accounting across multiple foundation entities: reporting, reconciliations, audit and tax support
• Month-end and year-end close, accruals and journal entries
• Track, record and reconcile donation and fundraising receivables
• Account reconciliations across multiple legal entities
• Support Form 990-PF, 990-T and state filings with outside preparers
• Coordinate the annual audit
• Banking relationships and cash management support
