Job summary

MBC Talent Connections is seeking an Accounting Manager in the New Haven, CT area to lead day-to-day and month-end accounting operations. This hands-on leadership role impacts financial reporting, cash flow management, and strategic decision-making.

You will oversee GL, AP, AR, and inventory accounting; manage the full month-end close; prepare reports with KPIs; and lead budgeting with cross-functional teams, ensuring data integrity and timely financial insight for senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience leading core accounting functions.
• Strong general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close experience.
• Experience with AP, AR, and inventory accounting in a corporate setting.
• Solid financial reporting and analytical skills with clear insights.
• Knowledge of federal and Connecticut tax and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger maintenance, AP, AR, and inventory accounting.
• Lead full month-end close process with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Review and approve reconciliations; ensure data integrity across balance sheet and P&L.
• Prepare financial reports with trend analysis, variance highlights, and KPIs.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital; optimize liquidity.
• Support tax planning and compliance at federal and CT levels.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff; drive continuous improvement.
