Job summary

The Bachrach Group in New York is seeking an Assistant Controller to own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and lead robust financial reporting. You will manage a team of accounting professionals and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, ownership of the close, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. CPA is strongly preferred; public accounting exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2–3+ years of people management experience.
• Strong U.S. GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Proven ownership of month-end and year-end close.
• Strong GL and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
• ERP experience and advanced Excel skills.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Public accounting or large/capital-intensive organization experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Perform P&L and variance analysis.
• Support external audits, internal controls, and compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Support ERP and financial systems optimization.
• Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams.
