As our studio grows, we’re looking for a detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and entrepreneurial-minded Accounting & Operations Manager to help us thrive behind the scenes.

Role Summary

This is not your typical accounting role. Yes, you’ll manage the books, handle payroll, and keep us financially organized. But we’re also looking for someone who wants to innovate—improving internal processes, ideating around marketing workflows, and helping the business run like a beautifully lit machine. You’ll have a voice in how the business grows.

Core ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Finance
  • Own all aspects of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Collections
  • Track and categorize both operational expenses (cost of doing business) and project-specific expenses (cost of goods sold)
  • Create and maintain project-specific P&Ls and generate firm-wide financial reports
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial data for monthly tax accountant reviews
  • Maintain clean, reconciled books (QuickBooks Online preferred)
Payroll & Compliance
  • Collect employee hours in Buildertrend and enter them into Justworks for bi-monthly payroll
  • Manage and update resale certificates, W-9s, and other compliance documents
Office Management
  • Keep the day-to-day studio operations running smoothly
  • Streamline vendor management, purchasing, and internal admin systems
  • Maintain digital filing systems and core operational documentation
Strategic Operations & Marketing Support
  • Bring ideas to the table on how to improve business operations, streamline processes, and support scalability
  • Collaborate with ownership on project management systems, software evaluations, or vendor sourcing
  • Support simple marketing initiatives (e.g., helping coordinate newsletters, updating contact databases, or researching CRM tools)
  • Track client and project milestones to support better visibility and workflow planning
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years in an accounting, office management, or business ops role (bonus if you’ve worked with creative or construction teams)
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Excel/Google Sheets, and payroll platforms like Justworks
  • Strong systems thinker who enjoys solving operational puzzles
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a growing small business
  • Self-starter with curiosity, follow-through, and a desire to make things better
