Job summary

State of Maine is seeking an Accounting Operations Supervisor in Augusta to oversee the General Processing team within the Accounting Unit. You will set priorities, supervise staff, and ensure efficient processing of daily deposits, A/R, and A/P while guiding operations and applying GAAP and OSC guidance.

Qualifications

• Education or experience in Business/Public Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
• Ability to pass a National Criminal Background check.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, or financial processing.
• Lean or continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the General Processing team to maintain stable processing levels and prevent backlogs.
• Supervise and develop direct reports by setting expectations and monitoring performance.
• Track team work, balance priorities, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Coordinate with Accounting Unit leadership via check-ins and huddles.
• Serve as subject matter expert for General Processing, including AP, billing, deposits.
• Advise on process improvements and lead implementation with stakeholders.
