Job summary

Rivertown Dental is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day accounting for a growing multi-location dental practice. You will own the close process, GL, reconciliations, payroll accounting, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial records.

The role partners with executive leadership and external advisors to strengthen processes, improve reporting, and deliver timely financial insights for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, close, and financial statements.
• 2+ years in an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, or comparable leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to monthly and year-end close processes.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete month-end and year-end close process with a consistent close calendar.
• Own the general ledger and ensure transactions are classified, supported, posted, and reconciled.
• Prepare and review monthly income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reporting, and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, liabilities, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany accounts.
• Maintain effective AP processes, vendor controls, and appropriate separation of duties.
• Ensure payroll-related transactions and journal entries are accurately reflected in the GL.
• Establish and maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and disposals.
• Identify and close accounting control gaps with scalable processes.
• Document and improve accounting policies, procedures, and close checklists.
• Coordinate documentation for external tax professionals, auditors, and lenders.
