BlackSky, a real-time intelligence company based in Herndon, VA, seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee revenue recognition and monthly/quarterly close. The role supports the Corporate Controller and requires strong leadership across a fast-paced, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in accounting/finance or related field.
• 9+ years of combined work experience including public accounting.
• 3+ years of leadership with ability to manage cross-geo initiatives.
• CPA certification required and active.

Responsibilities

• Oversee revenue recognition across multiple contract types and complex satellite programs.
• Manage monthly and quarterly close and deliverables for public company reporting.
• Lead and develop the accounting team; coordinate with Contracts, Operations, IT and others.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC rules; maintain internal control environment.
• Support audits and implement process improvements; refine policies and disclosures.
