Job summary

ZERO IMPACT ENERGY is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team and oversee all accounting operations. The role ensures regulatory compliance, accurate financial records, and timely reporting for the organization.

You will supervise payroll, payable/receivable processes, and month-end to year-end closes, while coordinating with the CEO and finance leadership on results and strategic initiatives. In-person role in Costa Mesa, CA with salary DOE.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS in Business with emphasis in accounting and preferably a CPA license.
• Experience with GAAP and tax law is required.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with AI tools are expected.
• Ability to manage general ledger and accrual accounting; supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of accountants with coaching and performance feedback.
• Oversee AP, AR, and bookkeeping priorities for the team.
• Ensure monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes are accurate and timely.
• Oversee reporting of all monthly financial information.
• Ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations timely.
• Support monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Advise on non-routine reporting transactions.
• Respond to inquiries from CEO, CFO, and other managers.
• Improve workflows and implement new procedures to boost accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide training to staff as needed.
• Support management with special projects.
