Job summary

North Carolina Sound, a commercial technology and security provider in North Carolina and South Carolina, is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the monthly close, project accounting, and financial reporting for a single operating company. You will lead a hands-on team, ensuring clean controls and accurate payroll, AR, and AP, while supporting audits and ERP initiatives.

The role emphasizes revenue recognition, job costing, and cash flow forecasting within a project-based business model.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on monthly close ownership.
• Strong command of GAAP, including reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting.
• Experience closing and reporting across multiple entities, branches, or subsidiaries.
• Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, ServiceTitan) and ability to learn new tools.
• Excellent Excel and data-modeling skills; ability to bring structure to ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and close reporting; drive speed and accuracy improvements.
• Manage revenue recognition and job costing for projects; oversee inventory and cycle counts where applicable.
• Prepare the financial package, variance analysis, and 13‑week cash flow forecast.
• Maintain and improve controls, budgets, KPIs, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with regional finance team; support ERP implementations and integrations.
• Lead and develop accounting staff; ensure accurate payroll, AR, and AP.
