J2T Recruiting Consultants, Inc. partnered nonprofit organization in Lone Tree, CO seeks an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting and ensure financial integrity across the association.

You will collaborate with the Executive Director, manage month-end close, reconciliations, payroll, and revenue tracking for events and memberships. This hands-on role emphasizes accuracy, process improvements, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on operational accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and GL management.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with financial management software.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication with staff and volunteers.
• Experience with event registration systems or nonprofit accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting functions across general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash deposits.
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, investment, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, variance analysis, and internal controls.
• Oversee payroll and employee benefit deductions with a third-party processor.
• Track membership dues revenue, deferred revenue, and event-related financials.
• Coordinate with IT for registration systems linking to the GL and assist with software enhancements.
• Prepare schedules for annual audits and support IRS Form 990 preparation.
• Monitor expenditures and assist with annual operating budgets and project metrics.
