Syntax Talent Solutions, LLC is seeking an Accounting Manager with a public accounting background to own day-to-day accounting for pension, insurance, and benefit-plan activities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. This role partners with auditors and drives improved processes across pension and benefits areas.

You will streamline month-end close, support audits, and provide leadership in GAAP compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting/finance.
• CPA track or certification progress is preferred.
• Experience with pensions, benefits, or insurance accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close for pensions, insurance, and benefit accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and reconciliations.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and strengthen controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide audit support.
• Document accounting procedures and ensure policy adherence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to explain results with clear analysis.
• Monitor issues and variances in benefit and insurance accounts.
