Job summary

LHH seeks a Senior Manager of Accounting to lead pension, OPEB, and employee benefits accounting in a Tampa environment. The role focuses on financial reporting, ASC 715 compliance, and collaborating with actuaries, auditors, HR, and finance leaders.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in accounting, direct pension/OPEB experience, and strong GAAP knowledge. This onsite role offers growth in a large corporate setting with a 15% target bonus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Direct pension and/or OPEB accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 715.
• Experience working with actuaries and benefit-related financial reporting.
• Prior leadership, management, or significant project leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting related to pension, retirement, and employee benefit plans.
• Manage accounting requirements under ASC 715 and related U.S. GAAP guidance.
• Partner with external actuaries on pension and OPEB calculations and reporting.
• Review benefit-related journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement activity.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide supporting documentation.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and other business leaders.

Compensation: $140K-$155K base + 15% target bonus

A large, established organization is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting with specialized experience in pension, OPEB, and employee benefits accounting. This is a senior-level accounting leadership opportunity within a complex corporate environment, with responsibility for benefit-related accounting, financial reporting, and team development.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to partner across Finance, HR, external actuaries, and auditors.
