Job summary

Tampa Electric Company is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Accounting with a focus on employee benefits accounting, including pension, OPEB, and deferred compensation. This role leads accounting operations within Finance, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with ASC 715 and related guidance.

The ideal candidate will have a CPA, a strong background in pension and post-retirement benefit accounting, and a track record of guiding cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Active CPA license required.
• 8+ years progressive accounting/financial experience.
• 3+ years leadership or project leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience handling complex accounting matters with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Ensure timely month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain integrity of financial records, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Drive process improvement and standardization of accounting functions.
• Lead benefits accounting activities for defined benefit, OPEB, and deferred compensation.
• Collaborate with actuaries, external auditors, and finance leadership on valuations.
