Our client is seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager who’s ready to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations while playing a meaningful role in how the business reports, operates, and evolves.

This is an on‑site leadership role in downtown Columbus, built for someone who enjoys being visible, collaborative, and trusted, not tucked away behind spreadsheets. You’ll own the close, guide the team, partner cross‑functionally, and help modernize accounting processes where it matters most.

What You’ll Own

You’ll be responsible for both execution and leadership, including:

• Leading day‑to‑day accounting operations across AP, AR, GL, and payroll coordination
• Owning month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close — accuracy, timeliness, and confidence
• Preparing and reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements
• Maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring full GAAP compliance
• Partnering with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Coordinating external audits, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation
• Developing, documenting, and improving accounting policies, procedures, and workflows
• Supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting staff, setting clear expectations and standards

This role has real ownership; you’re not inheriting a locked‑down system, you’re trusted to improve it.

What Sets You Up for Success

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA preferred (active or in progress) and highly valued in this role
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership or supervisory responsibility
• Strong command of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience working with ERP/accounting systems, with an eye toward streamlining and automation
• Clear, confident communication and organizational skills — able to lead up and across the business
