Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead U.S. and international AP/AR operations and support the GL accounting team. The role emphasizes strong GAAP knowledge, process improvement, and collaboration with finance leadership to drive financial excellence.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in accounting and 2+ years in people management, with experience in corporate AP/AR and financial reporting. This is a fully onsite role based in Knoxville, TN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• 2+ years of people management or accounting leadership experience.
• Experience managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in a corporate environment.
• Strong experience with financial statement preparation, month-end close, and account reconciliation processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations across U.S. and international entities.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in partnership with the General Ledger and FP&A teams.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and complex accounting transactions.
• Conduct accounting research related to GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and international accounting considerations.
• Perform financial statement and variance analysis, providing actionable insights to finance leadership.
