Job summary

Synergy Search is assisting in finding an Accounting Manager to own core accounting operations and develop toward a Controller track in Franklin, Tennessee.

The role leads the monthly close end-to-end, manages AR/AP with a team of three, and collaborates with Treasury, Tax, and Risk to ensure accurate financial reporting. You will support the annual audit and drive ERP/process improvements while mentoring staff for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 3 years in management.
• Solid GAAP fundamentals and hands on month end close experience.
• Direct experience overseeing AR and/or AP functions preferred.
• Comfort managing people and processes, not just reviewing output.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process end to end, including reviewing and approving journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Take direct ownership of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, managing a team of three.
• Partner cross functionally with Treasury, Tax, and Risk to keep financial reporting accurate and coordinated across the business.
• Support the annual audit process, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Identify and drive process and system improvements, including future ERP enhancements.
• Build out team performance standards and mentor staff toward stronger technical and professional development.
