Job summary

PCL Construction is seeking an Accounting Manager to provide strategic financial leadership across district accounting operations. You will drive internal controls, reliable reporting, and core processes while developing a high-performing team.

This role supports regulatory adherence and business needs across the organization. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in progressive accounting with leadership experience, a strong grasp of full-cycle accounting, and familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle

Qualifications

GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Effective verbal and written communication, including presenting financial information to leadership.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with detail-orientation.
ERP and reporting tools proficiency; Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team by setting clear expectations and fostering accountability, collaboration, and growth.
Delegate and coordinate activities to support development of team members through mentoring and guidance.
Oversee key accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close.
Ensure timely financial reporting and insights to support leadership decisions, including ad hoc analysis.
Identify risks, opportunities, and performance drivers; provide forward-looking analysis to inform district planning.
Lead planning and forecasting cycles aligned with district and corporate goals.
Manage the district financial cycle and working capital per company policies; improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain internal controls and oversee audits and regulatory documentation.
Oversee documentation (insurance, bonding, SDI, workers comp, etc.) to ensure completeness and maintenance.
Drive accounting system and process improvements for accuracy and scalability.
