Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in Atlanta is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead two Senior Accountants and oversee accounting and financial reporting for designated business units. Reporting to the Business Unit Controller, you will drive accuracy and timeliness while collaborating with FP&A, Operations, and other teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting with 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience; CPA/CMA is a plus, and advanced Excel skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
• Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience leading or supervising accounting professionals.
• Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle.
• Advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Construction industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage an accounting team consisting of Senior and Staff Accountants.
• Establish workload priorities and ensure timely, accurate results.
• Manage accounting activities for designated business units with proper controls.
• Oversee month-end close, review journal entries, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Present financial results and analyses to Corporate Accounting leadership.
• Serve as primary accounting contact for assigned units and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Oversee transactional accounting and ensure policy compliance.
• Develop reporting tools and performance metrics for high-volume areas.
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures to support evolving needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc requests.
