Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting management overseeing core functions.
• Strong hands-on expertise with general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting in a corporate environment.
• Solid background in financial reporting and analysis, with ability to interpret data and present actionable insights.
• Working knowledge of tax planning concepts and regulatory requirements at federal and CT state levels.
• Experience managing cash flow and working capital, including monitoring and improvements.
• Track record of effective team leadership and staff development within accounting/finance.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and act as a strategic partner to management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including GL maintenance, AP, AR, and inventory accounting.
• Manage full month-end close process, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and timely financial statements.
• Review and approve account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity across balance sheet and P&L.
• Prepare financial reports highlighting trends, variances, and KPIs for management.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven financial plans.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital, recommending actions to optimize liquidity and support operational needs.
• Coordinate and support tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff, setting performance expectations and driving continuous improvement.
