You will oversee GL, AP, AR, and inventory accounting; manage the full month-end close; prepare reports with KPIs; and lead budgeting with cross-functional teams, ensuring data integrity and timely financial insight for senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience leading core accounting functions.
• Strong general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close experience.
• Experience with AP, AR, and inventory accounting in a corporate setting.
• Solid financial reporting and analytical skills with clear insights.
• Knowledge of federal and Connecticut tax and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

About the Role

A well-established manufacturing organization in the New Haven, CT area is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day and month-end accounting operations. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct impact on financial reporting, cash flow management, and strategic decision-making.

What You'll Do

• Oversee general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting
• Manage the full month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Review and approve account reconciliations, ensuring data integrity across balance sheet and P&L accounts
• Prepare financial reports with trend analysis, variance highlights, and key performance indicators
• Lead budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Monitor cash flow and working capital, recommending actions to optimize liquidity
• Support tax planning and compliance at the federal and Connecticut state levels
• Mentor and develop accounting staff, setting clear expectations and driving continuous improvement

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
• Proven experience in an accounting management role overseeing core accounting functions
• Strong hands-on expertise in general ledger management, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting in a corporate environment
• Solid financial reporting and analysis skills, with the ability to present clear, actionable insights

• Track record of effective team leadership and staff development

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $90,000–$100,000
• Bonus: Discretionary year-end bonus based on performance
