Job summary

Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, Inc. in Johnstown, PA is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls.

You will oversee month-end close, asset accounting, and budgeting processes while guiding a team of three accounting professionals in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. You’ll collaborate with the Director of Finance, manage external audits, and drive process improvements across

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing or government contracting.
• Three+ years of supervisory experience, or team leadership in financial management.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with government contracting regulations (FAR/CAS) preferred.
• ERP systems experience; Infor LN or similar ERP platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to handle confidential information and ensure compliance.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day accounting activities and ensure procedures are followed.
• Oversee month-end close and coordinate with Finance team for accuracy.
• Support compliance with government accounting principles and regulations.
• Maintain and improve internal control systems and policies.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
• Coordinate with auditors and support annual audits.
• Lead and develop three accounting professionals.
• Oversee fixed assets accounting and depreciation in ERP LN.
