Job summary

High Performance Academy (HPA) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations and drive financial accuracy in a hybrid Clovis, CA setting. The role partners with the VP, CEO, and external advisors, owning the accounting function and enabling scalable, compliant processes for growth.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in accounting with leadership experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and proficiency in cloud-based systems and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or 5+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years in a managerial role.
• Regulatory and technical accounting knowledge including payroll, inventory, and procurement accounting.
• Experience in the sports industry is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with cloud-based accounting systems, Microsoft 365, and financial reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities, financial reporting, compliance, and team accountability with high accuracy.
• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and revenue recognition.
• Strengthen accounts payable, cash management, purchasing, inventory, fixed asset, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and financial advisors on budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance tracking.
• Improve accounting policies, workflows, documentation, technology, and automation to support growth.
• Work cross-functionally with department leaders to strengthen financial understanding and budget accountability.
