Job summary

MARS Builder Solutions in Escondido, CA, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the General Ledger and Accounts Receivable across Roofing and Solar divisions. You will drive month-end close, AR processes, and billing accuracy, partnering with the Controller and CFO in a fast-growing energy-oriented company.

The role requires 7+ years in accounting with AR and GL responsibilities, strong leadership, and excellent Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including AR and GL/month-end close
• 2+ years of supervising or leading an accounting/AR team
• Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Experience with high-volume multi-customer aging portfolios
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines, especially during month-end close

Responsibilities

• Own the AR portion of the month-end close for Roofing and Solar entities
• Prepare AR-related journal entries, accruals, and reclasses as needed
• Reconcile AR subledger, retention, and customer deposit accounts to the General Ledger
• Assist with significant accounting estimates such as WIP, warranty reserves, and doubtful accounts
• Oversee intercompany activity and allocation entries
• Review ASC 842 lease accounting entries and inventory reconciliations
• Review reconciliations prepared by the Senior Accountant and other liabilities
• Manage month-end close checklist with Controller
• Lead AR team and set priorities to meet billing and collection goals
• Oversee invoicing in NetSuite based on milestones and change orders
• Ensure accurate progress billings and retainage
• Monitor unbilled work and retention balances for revenue capture
• Prepare AR reporting and dashboards for leadership
• Develop AR policies and internal controls
• Support year-end audits and system implementations
