Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee corporate accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. This role partners with finance, operations, tax, treasury, and external auditors to align with company policies and provide meaningful insights to management.

The position requires 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, and leadership能力 in guiding accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting practices.
• Experience supervising, leading, or mentoring accounting professionals.
• Proficiency with enterprise accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting matters to non-accounting stakeholders.
• CPA or CMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for corporate accounting areas, ensuring timely and accurate completion of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables.
• Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, investigate variances, and communicate key findings to senior finance leadership.
• Oversee general ledger activity, corporate allocations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and other corporate accounting areas as assigned.
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company requirements.
• Support external and internal audit requests, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and explanations for accounting conclusions.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff by setting priorities, reviewing work, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth.
• Partner with FP&A, tax, treasury, procurement, and operations teams to resolve accounting matters and support business initiatives.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, including automation, standardization, and improved use of accounting systems and reporting tools.
• Support automation and process improvement initiatives within the accounting organization.
• Contribute to the standardization and documentation of recurring accounting processes.
