Job summary

Westlake Financial Services, based in Los Angeles, is seeking an Accounting Manager to assist the Corporate Accounting Director in managing key close processes and complex accounting areas. The role involves preparing audit schedules, ensuring US GAAP compliance, and improving internal controls while leading and training the staff.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and stress management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to train and manage staff.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage various areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
• Prepare and review year-end audit schedules; assist with ongoing compliance audits and year-end financial audits.
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statement information to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
• Research and prepare accounting memos to document proper application of US GAAP to complex transactions.
• Assist in establishing and implementing internal controls and procedures to ensure financial statements are fairly presented.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to create efficient accounting processes.
• Manage training and motivation of the accounting staff.
