Job summary

ABB Optical Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This role reports to the Controller and will oversee GAAP reporting, monthly close, and internal controls while guiding a staff of accounting professionals.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA, has 6+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or equivalent) and strong Excel skills, with collaboration across FP&A and audit processes in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• CPA required
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 6+ years of total experience (Big 4 or 2nd-tier firm) with remaining years in corporate environment
• Strong GAAP financial reporting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting records, ledgers and GAAP reporting processes.
• Assist Controller in managing monthly close process and analysis to reduce close timeline.
• Manage and develop staff of accounting professionals.
• Research accounting issues and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Assist in managing annual audit with audit firm.
• Prepare ad hoc management reports and reports for CFO and others.
• Coordinate with FP&A and prepare reports for internal customers.
• Prepare process documentation and evaluate existing processes for improvement.
• Assess and develop internal controls, including risk assessments.
• Lead complex accounting projects including purchase accounting and new GAAP pronouncements.
