Qualifications

• CPA certification required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field.
• 6+ years of accounting experience; Big 4/public firm experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP financial reporting experience; consolidations knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting records, ledgers, and GAAP reporting across the consolidated business.
• Assist Controller with monthly close process and improve close timeline.
• Manage and develop accounting staff; supervise team performance.
• Research accounting issues and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
• Assist in managing annual audit with external auditors.
• Prepare ad hoc management reports and analytics.
• Coordinate reports for CFO and other stakeholders.
• Develop process documentation and assess internal controls.

Job description

ABB is looking for a motivated, talented Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This person, who we expect to be technologically skilled with strong analytic skills, will assist the Controller with the management of the accounting, technical accounting issues, assistance in the preparation of the financial statements, and policies/internal controls, audit. This position will report into the Controller.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee accounting records, ledgers, and GAAP reporting processes on various aspects of the consolidated business,
• Assist the Controller in managing the monthly close process, including analysis and work to reduce the timeline for the close process,
• Manage, and develop, a staff of accounting professionals,
• Research accounting issues and ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards,
• Assist in managing the annual audit with our audit firm,
• Prepare necessary ad hoc reporting required by management,
• Coordinate with and prepare reports for the CFO, other management and internal customers,
• Preparing process documentation and evaluating existing processes for improvement,
• Assessing and developing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas,
• Work closely across various functions, particularly with FP&A,
• Leading more complex accounting projects and initiatives including purchase accounting & new GAAP pronouncements with other members of the accounting and finance team,

Requirements

• CPA,
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting,
• 6+ years of total experience obtained in a Big 4 or second-tier public accounting firm (minimum 4+ years requirement) with remaining experience, if any, in a sophisticated corporate environment
• Strong GAAP financial reporting experience,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel,

Compensation Range

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $78,000 to $150,000 annually. This represents the good-faith estimate of the compensation range at the time of posting.

Actual pay will be based on job‑related factors, which may include:

• Geographic location
• Education and qualifications

• Internal equity considerations
• Applicable minimum wage laws

This position may also be eligible for a bonus and/or commission plan, subject to the terms of the applicable plan.
