Responsibilities

Job description

A growing Japanese food consumer products company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and lead a small accounting team. This is a hands‑on management role responsible for supervising Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions while actively participating in accounting operations, month‑end close, financial reporting, and process improvements. Location: Dallas / Irving, Texas (100% onsite) Salary: Approximately $75,000 annually (negotiable based on experience and qualifications) Employment Type: Exempt/ Direct Hire Travel: None Language Requirement: Japanese is not required but is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise a team of 3 accounting staff members responsible for AP and AR functions
• Review AP/AR activities, reconciliations, aging reports, collections, and payment processes
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial schedules
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Assist with financial reporting, audits, and accounting analysis
• Oversee cash management and strengthen internal controls
• Identify accounting issues, investigate root causes, and implement solutions
• Provide coaching, guidance, and performance support to accounting staff
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Finance teams
• Support communication and reporting to the Japan headquarters when necessary

Qualifications：

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands‑on experience with both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end close
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
• Ability to work fully onsite in the Dallas area
• Must be able to commute to the office and work regular office hours
• Must have valid authorization to work in the United States without any visa sponsorship (this position does not offer visa sponsorship)

Preferred Qualifications：

• Prior supervisory or people‑management experience
• CPA or CPA‑track candidate preferred
• Japanese language skills are a plus
• Experience in retail, consumer products, wholesale, or distribution environments
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems
• Experience improving accounting processes, internal controls, or workflow automation
• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting requirements
