A global food ingredient manufacturer is seeking a Senior Accountant for their back-office team in Plano, TX. This position is responsible for independently managing all accounting duties, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. In addition to core financial responsibilities, the role involves tax-related activities, coordination with external CPAs, and supporting HR and administrative functions to ensure smooth office operations.
Financial Management: Independently manages the full closing cycle (month/quarter/year-end) and prepares/reviews journal entries and bank reconciliations.
AP/AR Oversight: Oversees Accounts Payable and Receivable entries, including bill payments, sales invoices, and daily cash receipts.
Banking & Treasury: Maintains bank accounts by monitoring transactions, processing credit card adjustments, and coordinating ACH/wire transfer activities.
Tax & Audit Compliance: Coordinates tax payments, gathers data for 1099 and use tax reporting, and serves as the primary contact for external CPAs regarding annual audits.
Global Coordination: Communicates with the Japan-based headquarters regarding accounting and tax-related matters.
HR & Admin Support: Manages office equipment/supplies, coordinates travel reservations for management, and assists with various HR-related administrative tasks.
Hours: Full-Time.
Status: Exempt.
Supervisory: May provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
Travel: Local travel is required; domestic/international travel is rare.
Hourly Rate:$36/hr-41.02/hr (70-80K/yr)

Language: English fluency is required; Japanese language skills are preferred for communication with headquarters.
