Job summary

TCP Analytical, an integrated manufacturer and distributor serving life science research and chemical markets, seeks an Accounting Manager in Zelienople, PA. Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent with experience.
• 5–10 years of accounting work experience, including 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
• High level knowledge of ERP systems and transaction processes.
• Excellent time management and communication skills, with timely email responsiveness.
• Strong supervision and employee development abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, with a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to identify process improvements and implement recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain trial balance and general ledger for multiple entities.
• Perform account reconciliations and month-end close tasks.

• Oversee AR/AP processes, cash collections, invoicing, and disbursements.

TCP Analytical, an integrated manufacturer and distributor serving the life science research and chemical markets, is seeking an Accounting Manager located in Zelinople, PA

About the Role

The primary responsibilities are accounting processes, controls and financial reporting for subsidiaries of TCP Analytical.

Responsibilities

• Trial balance and general ledger maintenance
• Account reconciliations
• Month end close and journal entries
• Monthly reporting and analyses
• Reserves for excess and obsolete inventory, bad debt, and other judgmental account balances
• Daily/weekly reporting and ad hoc analyses
• Income and state sales taxes
• Accounts receivable cash collections and application and assess customer creditworthiness
• Accounts payable invoice vouchering and cash disbursements
• Manage accounting team responsible for GL, AR, AP and other accounting areas for multiple entities
• Oversee month end closing process for multiple companies, with ability to meet company closing timelines
• Analyze unusual variances or fluctuations that help explain the monthly results
• Prepare monthly reporting and analyses, publishing within company reporting timelines
• Review account reconciliations, working with the preparer to investigate unexplained reconciling items
• Calculate judgmental account balances including reserves for excess and obsolete inventory and bad debt allowances
• Manage the customer accounts receivable collection and cash application process and team, ensuring prompt application of cash and timely identification of any potential collection issues.
• Assess customer creditworthiness and set credit limits
• Manage the accounts payable process and team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of supplier invoices and prompt resolution and responsiveness to supplier inquiries
• Maintain a thorough understanding of each business area’s underlying transaction processes and controls
• Establish and monitor policies to safeguard company assets, mitigate fraud, and ensure the accuracy of all data
• Ensure compliance with internal controls over accounting processing and financial reporting
• Understand the manufacturing product costing system.
• Evaluate ongoing production and cost variances, with the objective of continually improving manufacturing efficiencies and reducing per unit manufacturing costs
• Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with GAAP
• Ensure business activities and processes comply with applicable laws and regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting, or combination of other degree and sufficient experience
• 5 – 10 years of relevant accounting work experience, including 3 – 5 years of experience managing a team
• High level knowledge of ERP system and transaction processes
• Excellent time management and communication skills, with timely responsiveness to emails
• Excellent supervision and employee development skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/deliverables under tight deadlines
• Ability to identify processes needing improvement, with recommendations for improvement
