Anchor Innovation, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the Boating Division's financial operations in Virginia Beach, VA. This full-time, on-site role uses QuickBooks Online, DealerRock, and Paylocity to manage GL, month-end closes, and tax compliance.

You will oversee an Accounts Payable Clerk and coordinate system integrations between Dealer Rock and QuickBooks Online, reporting to the Director of Finance.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience with full-cycle general ledger management.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial statement preparation experience.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (multi-entity) and Paylocity for payroll.
• Experience integrating a Dealer Management System (DMS) with QuickBooks Online.
• Strong knowledge of state sales and use tax regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain chart of accounts and close monthly/year-end journals and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for executive review.
• Direct and review daily work of the Accounts Payable Clerk.
• Process payroll via Paylocity and ensure accurate withholdings and deductions.
• Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales and use tax filings.

Accounting Manager

Location: Virginia Beach, VA (On-site)

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $85,000 – $120,000 / year (Commensurate with experience)

About the Role

We are an established government contracting company seeking an experienced, proactive Accounting Manager to lead daily financial operations for our Boating Division, alongside a few other affiliated entities. Our accounting team utilizes QuickBooks Online, DealerRock, and Paylocity. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will own general ledger management, drive month-end closes across multiple QBO company files, oversee system integrations between Dealer Rock and QBO, manage state/local sales tax compliance, and supervise an Accounts Payable Clerk.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain chart of accounts, process month-end/year-end closing journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and manage the trial balance
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for executive review
• Direct, train, and review the daily work of the Accounts Payable Clerk
• Process payroll via Paylocity, ensuring accurate wage calculations, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings.
• Prepare, file, and remit recurring monthly/quarterly sales and use tax filings in compliance with state and local tax authorities.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle general ledger management and financial statement
• Software Proficiency:
  • Advanced hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO), including multi-entity account management
  • Direct experience with Paylocity for payroll setup and processing.
  • Experience operating or integrating a Dealer Management System (DMS) (e.g., DealerRock, Dockmaster, Lightspeed, or similar marine/dealership software) with QBO.
• Tax & Reporting: Strong practical knowledge of state sales and use tax filing regulations and electronic state portals.
• Spreadsheet Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent hands‑on industry experience.
