Mission:

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in supporting the daily financial operations of the firm. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and GAAP. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and has a strong foundation in accounting principles, particularly within a services-based business model. This role reports to Mole Street’s Contract CFO and collaborates with cross-functional teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and tax filings
  • Monitor project-level billing and revenue recognition in accordance with firm policies
  • Collaborate with operations and client service teams to ensure billing accuracy
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and support depreciation calculations
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records
  • Assist in developing and improving accounting procedures and workflows

Experience And Skills

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience (public or private)
  • Experience in a professional services or project-based environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proactive and able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Admin

  • Weekly account meeting attendance - 10:30am-11:00am Mondays
  • Weekly Finance Department meeting attendance
  • Availability on email, Slack, Zoom, and phone during working hours for connects with team
