Job summary

EverTrue is seeking an experienced Manager of Accounting in St. Louis to lead the accounting team while remaining hands-on with day-to-day work.

The role oversees general ledger, financial statements, reconciliations, budgets, payroll, audits, and regulatory reporting. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred), 5+ years in accounting and 2+ years in management, strong Excel and accounting systems skills, and a practical leadership style.

Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys leading a team while staying hands-on with the work? EverTrue is looking for a Manager of Accounting who brings strong technical accounting skills, a solid work ethic, and a practical, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to leadership.

In this role, you’ll oversee general accounting activities, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, payroll, and compliance while helping your team meet deadlines, improve processes, and deliver accurate financial information.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support the accounting team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day accounting work.
• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, financial statements, reconciliations, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Manage payroll processes, financial audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
• Partner with departments and communities across the organization to resolve issues and support business needs.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• At least 5 years of general accounting experience and 2 years of accounting management experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• A strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example.
• Healthcare or senior living accounting experience is a plus!
