Job summary

Connect Search, LLC is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the corporate accounting team and coordinate with the CFO, FP&A, tax, and legal. You will own the month- and year-end close, manage GP investments, and drive reporting accuracy.

The role includes direct exposure to the CFO, a formal development program, and a clear path for growth within a global investment-focused environment. Hybrid work in Skokie with Fridays from home.

Qualifications

• CPA certification required.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, ideally starting in public accounting.
• Strong U.S. GAAP, GL, close, and financial statement skills.
• Experience leading, reviewing, or training other accountants.
• Strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of three accountants.
• Manage the corporate GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting, and leadership analysis.
• Account for GP investments: capital contributions, distributions, and activity.
• Own the annual audit with external auditors, including schedules and support.
• Support regulatory, tax, and compliance reporting.
• Tighten controls and streamline close and reporting workflows.
• Leverage NetSuite and the broader finance stack for efficiency.

Our client is a well-established global alternative investment manager with two decades of history and strategies across credit, fixed income, quantitative investing, and venture. They are known for hiring smart people, investing in their development, and promoting from within.

This Accounting Manager leads the corporate accounting team that keeps the firm's own books (the management company, not the funds). You will report to the Corporate Controller, lead a team of three, and work closely with the CFO, FP&A, fund accounting, tax, and legal.

What you'll own

• Lead and develop a team of three accountants
• Run the corporate GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting, and analysis for leadership
• Account for the firm's GP investments: capital contributions, distributions, and investment activity
• Own the annual audit with the external auditors, including schedules and support
• Support regulatory, tax, and compliance reporting

• Get more out of NetSuite and the rest of the finance stack

What you bring

• CPA (required)
