Job summary

Hoxton Circle in West Los Angeles is seeking an Accounting Manager who wants real ownership and a defined route to Controller. You will have daily, direct contact with the CEO and CFO and lead a small team responsible for the GL, journal entries, and reconciliations.

The role reports to the CFO and involves ownership of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting and bank relationships, supporting lender reporting and process improvements in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in accounting, including at least 2 years in financial services and 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing people.
• Private company experience with GL, operations accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills. QuickBooks is helpful, and SQL or Access is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (MBA a plus).
• CPA, or well on your way.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to be in the office five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of three: an on-site Staff Accountant plus two offshore team members.
• Run daily accounting operations and own the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements with the CFO.
• Manage periodic financial and bank audits and support the CFO on lender reporting.
• Oversee the month-end close, including journal entries from the lending platform into QuickBooks.
• Oversee the 1099 process.
• Drive process improvements across accounting and the wider business.
• Support financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
