Job summary

Altitude Search Group is seeking an Accounting Manager for a venture-backed medtech company in the South Bay. The role is onsite to start and will move to a hybrid model as the company scales, reporting to the VP Finance & Corporate Controller.

You will own the monthly close, annual audit, equity administration in Carta, and management of outsourced partners. This is a hands-on opportunity to build the function pre-commercial to commercial.

Qualifications

• You started your career in public accounting (Big 4 or a mid-tier firm).
• You’ve audited venture-backed startups or smaller clients across cash, accruals, equity, inventory and more.
• You love the idea of working for a startup.

Responsibilities

• The monthly close. You’ll prepare clinical accruals, bonus accruals and stock comp entries, and review the rest
• The annual audit. You’re the PBC lead and the main contact for a Big 4 auditor
• Equity administration in Carta. You keep the cap table accurate
• Outsourced partners. You’ll manage the bookkeeper (AP) and the PEO payroll specialist
• Monthly bank compliance and loan reporting
• Cash and AP management alongside the VP Finance. You’re also the escalation point for vendor questions
• Budgeting, forecasting, and an upcoming systems implementation.

Our client is a fully funded, venture-backed medical device company building next-gen vascular technology for patients with very few good options today. They’re in a specialized market with limited competition, the founders have led medtech companies before (and have multiple successful exits), and the team is gearing up for commercial launch.

They’re looking for an Accounting Manager to own the books and grow with the company. You’ll report directly to the VP Finance & Corporate Controller.

What you’ll own

• The monthly close. You’ll prepare clinical accruals, bonus accruals and stock comp entries, and review the rest
