About The Role
The role owns the monthly close, technical accounting, and internal control environment for a growing technology company operating under US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting frameworks. This position matters because accurate financials and audit-ready controls are the foundation for scaling: the Accounting Manager ensures revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and complex accounting areas are handled correctly and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering accurate GAAP financial statements on tight timelines
- Manage technical accounting research on revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), and stock-based compensation (ASC 718), documenting positions in technical memos
- Maintain and strengthen SOX 404 internal controls over financial reporting, coordinating control walkthroughs and remediation with external auditors
- Review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses across prepaid, accrual, equity, and cash accounts in NetSuite or similar ERP
- Supervise and develop a team of staff and senior accountants, reviewing work and building close automation
- Prepare SEC reporting deliverables, including support for 10-Q and 10-K disclosures and XBRL tagging
- Partner with FP&A, Legal, and Revenue teams on contract reviews, audit requests, and policy updates
What We Are Looking For
- 5-8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, including Big 4 or national firm audit background
- Active CPA license with strong command of US GAAP and ASC technical accounting literature
- Hands-on experience with SOX 404 control design, testing, and external audit management
- Advanced NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP skills; comfortable building close checklists and automating reconciliations
- Experience preparing or supporting SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) in a public or IPO-track company
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a small team
- Bonus: SaaS or high-growth tech experience, familiarity with BlackLine or FloQast, and exposure to M&A purchase accounting
