Job summary

Peyton Resource Group is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead corporate accounting operations and own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close. This hands-on leader will oversee financial reporting, general ledger activities, multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, internal controls, and the development of the accounting team.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 5+ years of accounting experience, and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• 3+ years of audit experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• Public accounting or corporate accounting experience preferred.
• Experience leading and owning the close process.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• ERP experience; Sage Intacct preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Manage preparation and review of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and schedules.
• Oversee multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure U.S. GAAP compliance.
• Support audits, regulatory compliance, and process improvements.
• Partner with AP, finance, operations, shared services, and leadership.

This is a hands‑on leadership position overseeing financial reporting, general ledger activities, multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, internal controls, and the development of the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting process.
• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Manage preparation and review of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support financial audits, regulatory compliance, and accounting process improvements.
• Partner cross-functionally with AP, finance, operations, shared services, and company leadership.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of audit experience required; 5+ years strongly preferred.
• Prior experience within a public accounting firm or corporate accounting environment strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading and owning the accounting close process.
• Experience working within mid- to large-sized organizations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, multi-entity accounting, and internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Strong ERP experience; Sage Intacct experience preferred.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Proven people management and leadership experience, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
