Qualifikationen

• 2-4+ years of accounting experience in construction job costing or public accounting audit.
• Familiarity with core job costing concepts, including progress billing, WIP schedules, and schedule of values.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with project managers, operational staff, and external stakeholders.

Accounting Manager
Location: SE Portland
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 DOE
About the Role

This position plays a key role on the accounting team for a local Construction organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for company-wide job-cost accounting and project-based accounting.

This role works alongside project managers to oversee schedule of values, project billings, and change orders. This seat also offers a clear path toward broader accounting leadership and function design.

Key Responsibilities

• Job-Cost Accounting: Oversee company-wide job costing and ensure accurate financial visibility across all active projects.
• Project Manager Partnership: Collaborate directly with project managers on project cost tracking, schedule of values creation, progress billing, and change order management.
• Audit Support & Compliance: Compile project-cost documentation and maintain audit schedules required for public agency and municipal project reviews.
• Process & Systems Integration: Assist in refining accounting workflows, integrating project management and finance systems, and modernizing operational controls.
• Leadership Transition: Help shape an evolving accounting function with expanding scope and leadership responsibilities over time.

Requirements

• 2-4+ years of accounting experience in construction job costing or public accounting audit.
• Familiarity with core project accounting concepts, including progress billing, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and schedule of values.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with project managers, operational staff, and external stakeholders on day-to-day project financial questions.
• Location requirement: Full-time on-site presence in the SE Portland, Oregon area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a plus but not required.
